See you in KL, Khalil! 29.9.2010
Khalil Fong (方大同)fans, be sure to attend this great concert! I know I will!
I have seen DVD of Khalil's previous concert, and it is exactly the type of concerts I would enjoy - vibrant music, great unplugged (original) feel, great vocals, superb musicians backing the show, great appreciative and attentive audience - wow! reminds me of Cheers concert I attended in Singapore last year:)
Anyway Im pretty sure the Timeless concert would be as great, looking forward to it!

易桀齊 @ 回音石民歌餐廳KL 時光走道 - G Live 拉闊音樂會
Bali Beauty
Got this nice little piece of woodwork/ souvenir from my parents who just recently came back from a trip to Bali.
I have been to Bali twice - yes i love it that much - but have not came across this beutiful piece before. It looks a simple item, but it is beautifully and creatively designed and its not pricey at all at RM30. I tell you the price for art is soooo cheap nowadays sigh... in this modern world of mass manufacturing and commercialisation, hand crafts are no longer appreciated.
Well, i cant say for certain that this aint one facory manufactured item, but heck, i just love it. I would have paid rm100 for it period :P
The only complaint is...the smell! haha super strong paint smell...ew....
So guys, next time when you go there, get it for me k!

Merdeka! Merdeka!
Was browsing through my photos, and found this picture taken at last year's Merdeka day at Williams. I may not look it, but Im actually quite a patriotic dude. Whatever flaws the country has, it is still ultimately the country where I was born and where my allegiance and loyalty will lie till the day i die. Not to mention this is one of my favourite jersey too :P Cheap and comfy!
dang, i look good with the flag dont I?
Malaysia, negara tumpahnya darahku!

Public Pantry @ Sterling
Yaya! Just found out Sterling has its own "kopitiam" now! Dang apparently it has been open for a month now. Where have I been??
Called "Public Pantry", this place is located right outside the convenience store near the management office / badminton hall. Opens daily from 10am to 10pm. So instead of walking out to that horrible mamak opposite Glomac (unless u wanna drive out, this is the only choice we had) at least there is a nearer option.
Went there for a try just now, its just a small hangout with 6 -8 tables. Food and price is nothing to shout about, but then again being out in the open, its kinda refreshing and relaxing sipping my teh tarik there.
Next time yamcha can look for me here guys! haha
Pro? or No Pro?
An "interesting" article in the Star today. This has sparked some debate among fellow lawyers in our email newsletter.
Why you asked?
Reason is simple, and it all stems from the last 3 paragraphs of the article:-
"Other than going to a specialised will writing company or institution, one can also go to a lawyer to draw up a will.
But Chong points out that lawyers handle a host of legal matters including civil and criminal law suits, Sales and Purchase agreements and draw up contracts and as such they might not be specialists in will writing.
“If you have a heart problem, would you go to just a GP? No. You would go to a cardiologist because he is a specialist. It’s the same with wills."
Some smart guy this is.Well, to begin with, drafting a will is akin to drafting any other legal document - it carries significant legal consequenses, and who better to advice the lay client on this other than a lawyer? duh.
And his anology of specialist vis a vis GP is errorneous and completely misconstrued. To begin with, both GPs and specialists are qualified practitioners in their own right! A GP is still a qualified person who may provide sound medical advice and diagnosis, and if the matter is one out of his hands or scope, he would be the first , as a professionally trained personnel, to refer the client (in this case his patient) to a specialist etc. In the present case, will writers are not even professionally qualified at times. What makes them "better" than legally trained lawyers who are also bound by stringent code of ethics etc governed by the Bar Council. Further, in Malaysia it is compulsory for lawyers to have professional negligence insurance to compensate clients in the event of negligent advice etc. This all adds up to additional security for the client.
Anyway, wont want to dwell too much into all this. No disrespect to any will writers around, but the statement from the interviewee cannot go unprotested. I understand the BC is gonna publish a response, lets all wait and see.
Will writers are not legally trained, at least not most of them. Even if so, Well, the interviewee doesnt think so. I do not intend to dwell too much into his statement, but just want to point out

Safe trip dear dai gah jeh Cookie!
Dai Gah Jeh (大家姐 aka "big sister") Cookie is boarding the plane to Macau as I am typing this. Just thought to wish her and her bandmates Melina and Sharon a safe trip and enjoyable 3 months ahead in Macau.
This will be her second trip to Macau for a 3 month stint performing at the 4 Seasons Hotel casino. So I met up with Cat, Wai Chee, Kevin and - yup, all the way from Temerloh - Frankie dai goh! haha impresses me la, the passion Frankie has for good music. Little bit of background, I knew Frankie from my Wow Wow Cafe days where I started singing. He has been a great friend and inspiration and though he no longer sings now due to work commitments, he still finds the time to meet us as often as possible especially when there is gonna be good music:P
Cookie has also been an inspiration to me in a way. She is one of the toughest girl i have known and her desire to succeed has always impressed me. She has had her fair share of ups and downs, but still manages to bounce back a new person each and every time. For instance, ever since her last trip to Macau last year, she has improved alot, both in terms of singing skills / techniques as well as showmanship. I'm very sure it has something to do with Melina (of Tempered Metals fame) - I understand she has put Cookie through stern lessons and tests, and for that I thank her haha. Well, hope both of them will again reach new heights when she is back again in July.
So those of you who are gonna go to the Macau 4 Seasons Hotel, do drop by the casino lounge and catch them. They are good! Anyway here is a preview (just Melina and Cookie though - and unplugged) of what you may catch there :)
